Illustrator and artist Athina Pappa (Felix Felis) was born in 1986 in Thessaloniki, Greece. Athina started drawing at the age of three and showed interest for the arts and music from a very young age. She later received formal training in architecture and visual communication(illustration). Her artistry explores symbolism, metaphor, cartography and escapism all of which she finds fascinating and has also approached academically. Her work often honours and references the female, nature, pop culture, Greek culture, Japanese culture and witchcraft. She describes her style as dream pop.
Athina’s vibrant work is produced using both traditional and digital media. She is continuously looking for new creative techniques and media to expand her skillset and offer unique and whimsical designs to her clients. Her work was presented in the Teloglion Foundation of Art and has been published in a broad range of mediums such as silk scarves, zines, wine labels, murals, music album covers, posters and more. Athina was featured in Pictoria Vol.2 and Vol.3 ‘the best contemporary illustrators worldwide’ (capsules books, Australia, 2018-2019). She also achieved runner-up status (top 20% of the participants) in the A’ Design Awards (Milan, Italy, 2019) for her logo of the Estrella brunch restaurant and received Cerftificate of Aritistic Achievement from the Luxembourg Art Prize organisation for high artistic quality for the years 2020 and 2021. Athina showcases new personal work with yearly art exhibitions in diverse spaces from wine stores to cafes and galleries. She recently participated in the group exhibition Art on Loop New York represented by the Holy Art gallery (New York, US, 2023).
She lives and works between Thessaloniki and Athens while her cat Kiana thoroughly oversees all of her artistic projects.
